1. The air moves down the throat or pharynx.
2. The filtered air enters through the lobes of the lungs through the left and right bronchi then to the bronchioles 3. Carbon dioxide passes out of the bloodstream and is eventually exhaled.
4. Cilia and mucus trap tiny particles found in the air and warm and moisten the air.
5. The trachea, or windpipe, then carries the air to the lungs.
6. Unfiltered air enters through the nose 7. The air reaches alveoli where actual gas exchange happens.
8. Oxygen passes into the bloodstream​
