What is a parasite? What about a host?
I'll answer that question for ya lol.
Parasites are organisms that live in or on a host, benefiting from the host as the host suffers. E.g tick and a dog. The tick lives on the dog and drinks the dogs blood. The tick is the parasite while the dog is the host.
Parasite = Benefits
Host = Suffers
Hosts are on the short end of the stick, they are the organism that the parasite lives off of it. Hosts often harbor parasitic [toxic], mutualistic [good], commensalist [empty] guests.
In the case of a relationship between a host and a parasite, which we have already discussed above, would also be called a toxic relationship in real life.
