Norn9 is the anime adaption of an otome game released by Otomate. While it tells the story of an elementary school kid named Sorata Suzuhara who is transported to 1919 and tries to return to his time, the main focus is on the three heroines: Koharu, Mikoto Kuga, and Nanami Shiranui.
The three, as well as all of their love interests, have abilities and are aboard a ship called Norn9. Koharu is a pyromantic, Mikoto can create force fields, and Nanami has the ability to erase a person's memories.

Hakuouki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is bloodier and has a more serious tone than most reverse harems. It is based on the Japanese special police force, the Shinsengumi, during 1863, albeit with a supernatural twist. Chizuru Yukimura ventured to Kyoto to find her father but instead was attacked by two men who had demonic-like qualities.
After being saved by a man named Hijikata Toshizou, she is entangled in their battles and rumors of an elixir that turns the men into vampire-like beasts.

The story’s main focus is light humor in the beginning, but as the story progresses, viewers get to see more and more fleshed out characteristics and motivations of all the main characters involved. The main heroine deserves a shout-out for being a spunky little spitfire who takes no BS from any of the other princes.

Hino Kahoko’s school has two branches – the Normal Branch where everyone wears boring grey uniforms, and the exciting Music Branch where students wear white uniforms.
