Cover the scion and some part of the rootstock with ice bag and tie the joint tightly with scotch tape. After a week the scion begins to grow if it is successful but, if it is not no bud will come out. C. Cut off the top of the rootstock and slit it to form a cleft. D. Choose a pencil-sized mango seedling as root stock. Choose other mango variety of the same size as the scion. A good scion is from a mother plant that is already bearing fruit. E. Make a wedge - shaped cut to the scion. Insert the scion into the cleft of the rootstock.
