In subtraction mentally change the signed of the subtrahend then
proceed to algebraic addition or change positive (+) into negative, negative (-)
into positive (+) then add as usual.
Examples: A. Subtract 8x by 3x?
B.) From 2a subtract 3a
Solution:
8x2-3x
Solution: 2a - 3a
8x + (-3x)
= -a
