Province of Negros Oriental
Negros Oriental is a relaxed province in the southeastern part of Negros Island, Visayas, Philippines. The province is surrounded on the north and west by its neighboring province, Negros Occidentales, and is a breathtaking blend of culture and modernization. Negros Oriental's capital is Dumaguete City. The government is also located in the city's capitol area. The Taon Strait separates the province from Cebu Island. To the east were Siquijor Island and Apo Island, both dive destinations. The northern parts of Mindanao can be seen from the south of Negros Oriental in good conditions.

- The Buglasan Festival celebrates the history, progress, and diversity of the Negros Oriental people's cultural richness. This is usually celebrated as an annual week-long festival every second week of October.
- The Buglasan of Negros Oriental is one method of promoting and preserving other types of heritage, such as dances, songs, foods, rituals, and stories.
- The event, dubbed the BUGLASAN FESTIVAL in honor of the island's beginnings, when its cultural character and heritage began to take shape, included booth presentations, indigenous and growing culinary competitions, street dances, and field presentations of various local cultural productions that had evolved into modest festivals.
