"He who wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach." (KJV)
"Children who mistreat their father or chase away their mother are an embarrassment and a public disgrace." (NLT)

Reflection:
The verse Proverbs 19:26 means that the child who disobeys and forgets his parents will only learn bad things and bad attitude that can affect himself negatively. If a son decides to turn back to his parents, his life will be ruined where people can think of him as an embarrassment and a public disgrace, same to God's eyes. This Proverbs only tell us to follow and honor our parents because they teach us morals, values and life. Our parents sacrifice for our future and God tells us, children, to treat our parents with care.
