Two possible things that might happen to our universe if dark energy gets stronger or weaker than gravity that's holding it?
Dark energy is defined as the energy or force that opposes gravity, it is thought to be the reason why expansion of the universe is continuously accelerating.
If it gets stronger than gravity that's one of the fundamental forces of the cosmos, then everything in the universe including matters and space-time itself will be lacerated and blew apart. Because the expansion of the cosmos will accelerate more than ever, fast enough to rip everything in the universe.
If dark energy gets weaker than the gravity the expansion of the cosmos will eventually slow down or will theoretically reverse back to the earlier stages of the Big bang until everything comes back to the singularity that once caused universe's expansion.
