The Plasma membrane encloses the cell and separates what is inside it from its
environment. It also controls what goes into
and out of the cell. The Plasma membrane allows
antry of materials needed by the cell and eliminates those which are not needed
The Cytoplasm consist of a jelly-like substances where all the other parts o
he cell are located it does not however, include the area where the nucleus is located man
different activities of the cell occur in the cytoplasm.
ELF TEST:
irection: Answer the following questions. Write your answer in your notebook.
1. Will you please enumerate the three basic parts of cell?
2. What is the main function of a nucleus? Plasma membrane? Cytoplasm?
3. What do you think will happen to the cell if the plasma membrane does not
function properly?

Sagot :

Answer:

  1. A cell consists of three parts: the cell membrane, the nucleus, and, between the two, the cytoplasm.
  2. The nucleus controls and regulates the activities of the cell (e.g., growth and metabolism) and carries the genes, structures that contain the hereditary information. Nucleoli are small bodies often seen within the nucleus. The gel-like matrix in which the nuclear components are suspended is the nucleoplasm
  3. If the plasma membrane ruptures or breakdown then the cell will not be able to exchange material from its surrounding by diffusion or osmosis because it acts as a mechanical barrier. Thereafter, the protoplasmic material will be disappeared and the cell will die.
