Usually men help carry a neighbor's house when they have decided to move to another location. The tradition is also believed to bring good luck to the person who is moving as the whole village helps with the task. Today, the word Bayanihan is now associated to Bayan ni Juan, where bayan means nation or country and Juan refers to every Filipinos (Juan dela Cruz). Also, it can be refers to bayani which means a hero.
