The Cordillera Region is the ancestral homeland of the Cordillera indigenous peoples, collectively referred to as the “igorots”, meaning “people of the mountain”.
The Cordillera is located in Northern Luzon. It is a mountain range comprising one-sixth of the total land area of Luzon Island; it is home to around 1.2 million indigenous peoples collectively known as Igorots.
