FRICTION

What kind of friction is evident when two dry, solid objects in contact are prevented from to slipping?

ANSWER

Amongst the given choices above, the correct answer is letter c. sliding friction.

Sliding friction is the one present in solid objects that are in contact and are prevented from slipping. Sliding friction cancels or hinders the shifting motion of two slipping solid objects.

QUESTION

>>>What kind of friction is evident when two dry, solid objects in contact are prevented from to slipping?

ANSWER

>>>Static Friction

  • Because for me, static friction helps an object to prevent slipping because they keep them at rest just like your moving a heavy couch and due of his heavy mass and weight it's hard to pull or slide it because the couch has a static friction that if you increase your push the couch will increase accordingly to keep the object at rest but in a short period of time you just move the couch because of the static friction ends and the sliding friction occur that's why my answer is static friction.
