haiku poetry for covid 19 experience

Sagot :

Explanation:

In early April, a friend suggested that four of us who live in the Inner West exchange, by email, a daily haiku about our Lockdown experiences, in particular, observations on a daily walk. We’d try to keep to the 5-7-5 format but didn’t have to follow strict haiku rules. Our practice released a steady flow of poems which we’re still writing – not necessarily every day, but when we feel inspired by what we see, what we hear, what we think, what concerns us and what delights us during this very difficult time.

We’d like to share a selection of our haiku with you.

children chalk footpaths

silent houses, barred doors

in windows waiting for kids

Petersham people out walking

teddy bears and plush toys

a virus woke us up

Bay Run like Pitt Street

Bones Cafe over-crowded

Covid-19 Easter

owners and pets waitearly

appropriately distanced

outside vet’s surgery

post virus lockdown

a world of warmth together

body and spirit

stamina is gold

coronavirus tests us

who’s got the mettle?

school’s in for young crows

this is the way to karrk loud

repeat after me

silent houses, barred doors

Petersham people out walking

a virus woke us up

next to the Canal

a family plays hockey

all on roller skates

early morning houses sleep

the scent of cinnamon drifts

telling me it's Easter

homeless problem solved

in seventeen syllables

fill empty hotels

social isolation

the park quiet

rebel dogs
