What we can do to reduce damages to the people and also to the environment is to preserve the forests in the mountains. One example is the Sierra Madre in Luzon. It is a mountain range protecting a number of municipalities. Because of the ongoing deforestation and industrialization of the mountains, they have experienced the strong winds of the typhoon; Thus, creating a lot of damage especially to their crops.
The importance of forests in the mountains against the typhoon is that it decreases its strength and weakens the typhoon. We should plant more trees to reduce damages.
