1. The Italian musical term fine (pronounced fee'-nay) marks the end of a composition or movement, usually following a repeat command such as D.C. al fine or D.S. al fine.
2. D.C. al fine, or da capo al fine, means “from the head [beginning] to the end.” D.C. al fine is an indication to repeat from the beginning of the music, and continue until you reach the final barline or a double-barline marked with the word fine.
3. Binary form is a musical form in 2 related sections, both of which are usually repeated.
4. Ternary form, sometimes called song form, is a three-part musical form consisting of an opening section, a following section and then a repetition of the first section.
5. Strophic form – also called verse-repeating form, chorus form, AAA song form, or one-part song form – is a song structure in which all verses or stanzas of the text are sung to the same music. The opposite of strophic form, with new music written for every stanza, is called through-composed.
