1. In America there is so much magnificent scenery. Perhaps the most stunning of all is the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona. It is the deepest, widest canyon on Earth. This canyon is 217 miles long, 4 to 18 miles wides wide, and in some places, more than a mile deep. The rocks at the bottom of the steep walls are at least 500 million years old. Most of the rocks are sandstone, limestone and shale. By studying these rocks, scientists know that this part of the world was once under the sea.
2. Intercultural communication is communicating with a person or a group of people who have different religion, culture, and educational backgrounds. People engage in this type of communication may not share the same values, that's why, they need to be careful. Nowadays, through the advanced technology, distances between provinces, countries, and continents have been reduced, paving the way for intercultural communication. People who communicate effectively to other cultures learn to accept each other's differences. Since these people are exposed to different ways of living and they have different views or opinions about life, they know how to avoid or manage conflict.
4. The exodus of Filipino teachers to the United States continues. There are several reasons why this is happening. First, salaries are relatively higher in the US than here in our country. Second, more and more teaching jobs are offered to teachers. Finally, the rich country offers a lot more public services, aside from conveniences in everyday living that people enjoy there.
