They have offered their lives in service to God and his people. When they received the sacrament of the holy orders, it is clear to them that they are married to the Church, and they shall live the rest of their lives perpetuating the ministry and mission of Jesus.

It is impractical for priest to marry, for their time will be divided between their family and their ministry.

As Jesus said, "you can't serve two masters, either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other." (Matthew 6:24)
