Manila, Philippines The Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday ordered a crackdown on people manufacturing fake medical clearance certificates and travel passes needed for community quarantine exemptions, PNP deputy chief for administration Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar directed police comnianders to intensify the operations against manufacturers of these fake documents. Eleazar also ordered policemen to be strict in counter-checking travel authorizations being presented at quarantine control points. He issued the directive in response to complaints from local government units about uncoordinated travels of locally stranded individuals to the provinces. The PNP has received reports that some individuals were using fake quarantine papers. At least 46 people have been apprehended for manufacturing fake travel passes, medical certificates and other documents.
