For the past few day, I have learned that modal nouns are words such as 'can' or 'would'. They are used to express ideas. The words possibility, certainty, obligation, ability, intention, and requirement are some example of modal nouns.
They may mean similar to modal verbs because they both express modality. However, they are different to modal verb because the modal verbs commonly used are can, could, may, might, must, will, would, shall, should, ought to, had better, have to and sometimes need or dare.
