A wave is a repeating and periodic disturbance that travels that travels through medium (e.g, water) from one location to another location. Crest is the highest part of a wave while trough is the lowest. Wave Height is the vertical distance between the wave trough and the wave crest while Wave Length is the distance between two consecutive wave crests or between two consecutive wave troughs.
