At OSF Food Processing Assessment Center, the teacher asked one of her students to clean the pressure cooker. The student immediately responds to the command, gets the cleaning detergent and scouring pad, and placed the pressure cooker in the sink filled with water. She eventually washes the remaining food particles and sauce that were left in the pressure cooker. She dropped a liquid detergent on the pad and slowly scrubbed the inside part of the equipment. She noticed that no suds form, instead she felt greasiness. She dropped more amount of detergent, repeated scrubbing until it is completely covered with bubbles. Then she rinsed it thoroughly, prepared the sanitizing solution, dipped the pressure cooker in the solution, and placed it in a clean and sanitized table until dry.
