As the school year came to an end and summer approached, I started to wonder how people would spend their summer vacations if the nation stayed in its current state during the warm season. I believe that some of the most harmful consequences of Covid-19 on us all have more to do with social distancing policies than with any inconveniences we now face as a result of the increased precautions.
The vast majority of people would like "things to return to normal." The previous standard, on the other hand, was a system of apologizing for politicians and normalizing hatred. Yet there is always cause to be optimistic. The Filipino people are strong and courageous. The hope is that, in view of the global health crisis and the community quarantine, we will all benefit from this. Let us look back on the pandemic as a reminder to move forward for the better after this quarantine, when the dust has settled and the planet starts to recover from its losses.
