Fairness is just your perception of worth and expectations of reciprocity by the world. “If you put in hard work you should reap the benefits.” “If you’re a good person, good things should happen to you.” You do the right thing, and in return the right things should come to you.
But life isn’t this. Life just is. Not immoral, but amoral. The world just happens, usually you are able to predict small events ahead of time, and “doing the right thing” in response to them can lead to wanted outcomes.
Sometimes things outside of your control just comes in and invalidates your actions. But this isn’t unfair. This is life.
Because fairness doesn’t exist outside your mind.
