The old king of Bumbaran was unhappy because he was envious of his brother, Prince Bantugan. The latter possessed all the qualities that the King didn't have: handsome, strong and brave. Those traits made the maidens in the kingdom fall for the Prince which fired up the King's jealousy leading him to pass a law that forbids everyone to speak to his brother.
