There's barely anyone who questioned the true nature of these celestial objects like Galileo. in any case, the strongest evidence about my answer is that most of us, if not all in the modern world have considered scientific explanation.
and of course, this acceptance didn't just started now, our ancestors from way back started acknowledging scientific truth as the basis for everything.
