Legal system is almost the same because Philippine Constitution and form of government was patterned after US. Though we do not have Federalism and still Democratic Presidential form, the flow of government functions are roughly the same.
Our laws were written in English language but our national language is Pilipino which is a subtle form of Tagalog. We have 3 branches of government and they are:
Excecutive Branch
Legislative Branch
Judiciary Branch
The President & Vice President serves a 6 year fix term with no eligibility for relection.
Senators and Congressman serves a 3 year term with eligibility for relection with maximum of 3 consecutive terms. After which they can rest 1 term and run again.
There are 24 Senators. 12 senators elected as top 12 during election will serve 6 year term. 13–24 after will serve 3 year term.
Congressman depends on number of Districts per City or Municipality. Apart from party-list congressmen.
