Systemic Circulation:
4 The deoxygenated blood then travel through the veins and enter the right side of the heart.
1 The blood leaves the heart through the aorta.
2 The blood travels throughout the body via the arteries to the capillaries.
3 In the capillaries, exchange of the nutrients and gases occur. Oxygen is absorbed by the cells while the carbon dioxide is released into the blood.
Pulmonary Circulation:
2 Exchange of gas happens as oxygen is received by the blood and carbon dioxide is released.
1 The deoxygenated blood flows from the right side of the heart to the lungs.
3 The oxygenated blood then returns to the left side of the heart.
