What do you think is the future of contemporary art?

The thing about contemporary art is that it pretty much is everything. We came to a point in art history where we just can not define anymore what art actually is.

Hence the current definition of art is something like: “everything considered art is art”.

We are at a point where pretty much everything is done before. Because of that there is no real progression in art anymore.

There is only one little shift in recent years from the focus on technique to a focus on content. The artist are influenced by curators to make art about something instead of something new that was never done before.

It is part of a cultural dialogue that concerns larger contextual frameworks such as identity, family, community, and nationality.

✑ Contemporary art is the term used for art of the present day. Usually the artists are alive and still making work. Contemporary art is often about ideas and concerns, rather than solely the aesthetic (the look of the work). Artists try different ways of experimenting with ideas and materials.
