proof 1.
we were trying to hike as fast as we could it was getting dark then suddenly members of kapitans team had advised us not to go .They informed us that an accident had struck the tail and rain clouds were coming together with the onset of darkness. I was a little disappointed because I would like to reach the summit which was popularly known as ‘Durungawan” but we promised we will put safety on our agenda and so we retreated back to the base camp. At Kinabuhayan we set up a tent for the ladies and kids to rest. While the rest of us stayed under a big covered lawn made just for the pilgrims. I remembered there were some commotion and actually saw a girl in hypnotic state and presumed to be possessed by an unknown spirit. Members of the Kapitan’s team immediately acted on the situation and somehow did the exorcism. I am not that impressed with such a scenario, because people can fake it. Anyway as the night went on I saw many people holding some kind of charms (agimat), some holding hankerchief while the rest were just carrying some bottled water. I later learned that, it was customary for the Kapitan to bless or to ‘activate’ the charms and holy water so that it will have some effect or power.
