DESCRIPTIONS
• Starfish - takes place by fission or through autotomy of arms. In fission, the central disc breaks into two pieces and each portion then regenerates the missing parts.
• Hen - a rooster mates with a hen, who then lays a fertilized egg.
• Earthworm - involves a single earthworm producing young from unfertilised eggs and is known as parthenogenesis.
• Butterfly - The male then transfers a packet of sperm -- called a spermatophore -- to the female's body, where it will fertilize the waiting ova.
Explanation;
ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION - is a mode of reproduction that involves only one parent. It does not need sex cell or gametes.
SEXUAL REPRODUCTION - is a mode of reproduction that involves two individuals belonging to opposite sex - male and female. Parents produce reproductive cells called gametes (sperm & egg cells).
