As a result of a long process of negotiations in 2016
The Philippines, China, India and Indonesia signed an agreement to
stop building and militarization of any islands in the disputed sea.
The agreement was signed on 14 March 2016 by the presidents
of Indonesia, Filipinos, Chinese and Indian, respectively, and was
also signed by ASEAN. On the last day of the summit, ASEAN and China
declared that the declaration was final and conclusive and no
negotiation is to be made in the territorial issues.
