There are four main roles of zoos today. They are: conservation, research, education and recreation. breeding animals in captivity so they don't become extinct. Zoos also work out in the wild conserving animals in their natural habitats.
By bringing people and animals together, zoos foster an appreciation of animals. This could motivate people to protect them. Zoos save endangered species by bringing them into a safe environment, where they are protected from poachers, habitat loss, starvation, and predators.
