MARIANG MAKILING A Filipino Legend In the province of Laguna, there is a beautiful mountain which is known as Mt Makiling The folks believe that the people in Laguna are enjoying a good life because a nice and beautiful lady helps them get a good harvest Mariang Makiling is a lady in a white flowing gown, beautiful face, and long black hair that touches the ground. Sometimes, they said Mariang Makiling would appear and show herself to some people with pure hearts One day, a couple living in Mt. Makiling is getting married, Mariang Makiling wanted to help the couple, so she promised to help them. She told them to invite the town to go to the cave's entrance the day before the wedding. The couple followed, they went inside the cave, and they were surprised to see so much food, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats are lying atop the big stones. They are so thankful for her promise A group of men heard this and thought of Mariang Makiling as a rich lady keeping all her riches inside the cave. So, they decided to enter it and take everything they see there. The men, never seen again after that.
