Environmental sanitation includes human excreta control, managing solid waste and wastewater, and pest and vector control. Poor sanitation is linked to transmission of diseases. Poor sanitation reduces human well-being, social and economic development due to impacts such as anxiety, risk of sexual assault, and lost educational opportunities.
Some common diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio and exacerbates stunting.
The different respiratory diseases are asthma, lung cancer, tuberculosis, bronchitis, pneumonia, COPD, and emphysema.
The different skin diseases are eczema, cold sores, dry skin, melasma, acne, blister, hives, and allergies.
These various diseases can be prevented and control by protecting ourselves with healthy habits like washing our hands often, by preventing contact, cleaning and disinfecting, and therefore transmission of infection, between the susceptible host and the source of infection.
