Mating effort
Mating effort is defined as the energy devoted toward pursuing and obtaining new partners, in contrast to parental effort, defined as the energy devoted toward rearing one's offspring.
Parental Effort
Definition. Describes the trade-off between investing resources (e.g., time, money) in offspring already born or in mating to conceive more offspring.
