LONG EXPLANATION

The Nervous system is like the manager inside our body. Its function is to control and coordinate the parts of our body so that they work together, doing their job at the right time. The human neevous system receives information from the surrounding processes it, interprets it and then responds accordingly. The nervous system is compose of 2 divisions namely.

Two Division of the Nervous System

      1. Central Nervous System (CNS) is composed of the brain and spinal cord. As a command center, CNS interprets massages relayed by the nerves and transmits them to other organs in the body.

        2. Peripheral Nervous System is consisting of the cranial and spinal nerves. It is a network of nerves that transmits massanges of the CNS. It also links CNS to muscles and other organs.

Parts of the Central Nervous System

1. Brain

Your brain weighs about 2-3 pound, and it may be the most important 2-3 pounds of your body! The brain controls every action and activity. It is the center of our thoughts, the interpreter of our external environment, and the origin of control over body movement. Like the central processing unit of a computer, it interprets information from our eyes (sight), ears (sound), nose (smell), tongue (taste), and skin (touch), as well as from internal organs such as the stomach. The brain is divided into 3 main parts: cerebrum, cerebellum and stem.

2. Spinal

The spinal cord is the highway for communication between the body and the brain. All signals that go to or from the brain passes through the spinal cord and deliver it to the right muscle. When the spinal cord is injured, the exchange of information between the brain and other parts of the body is disrupted. It also controls the involuntary movements called reflexes such as blinking, sneezing, and others.
